Hydraulic Flashback Arrestor

Hydraulic flashback arrestor for industrial gas pipeline applications
8300037 and 8300038 shown

The Hydraulic Flash Arrestor is designed to provide protection in medium pressure fuel gas piping systems. Equipped with floor stands and flashback fluid (non-absorbing ethylene glycol), they help prevent the penetration of the gas into upstream equipment such as gas cylinders, hoses, and regulators. When explosive gases are transferred there could be a spark, leak, or other circumstances that could cause a fire. This fire then moves in a reverse direction (towards the source) which can lead to an explosion or flashback. The flashback arrestor allows the flow to occur in one direction only. If there is a reverse flow, the hydraulic flash arrester quenches the fire with a liquid barrier. The CONCOA hydraulic flash arrestor provides optimal protection when handling flammable gases and is essential for welding, cutting, heating, and other industrial applications.

  • Inlet pipe with check valve combined with flashback fluid creates a double barrier between downline users and high pressure cylinders
  • Built-in relief valve prevents the system from over-pressurizing during regular operating conditions
  • Relief valve design permits venting the system for maintenance ensuring increased service life
  • Gas service: Acetylene
  • Vent pressure: 15 PSIG (1 BAR)
  • Tank: Carbon steel
  • Inlet/Outlet connections: Carbon steel
